Christmas cards

Ok so I tried for 3 days to get my cards printed out correctly. I did the print preview but it didn't print like that. It cut the side off. So, the 2nd time the guy had a couple of solutions. He could sell them to me half price....why would I want cut off cards? Or I could choose from their premade templates instead. Why would I spend all that time designing it myself and then get a premade one? So I said "here's what we're going to do. I'm not paying for these, I'm going to return the other set, and I'll go home and adjust the size to make it work." So I did. I went in yesterday and the lady called the manager who told me thst they printed correctly this time but they couldn't sell them to me without a copyright release!!! I was about to punch her. I asked why and she said because they were made by portfam.com......why would I put the website that made my cards in the middle of the card??? I told her that was my website. Then she said I still needed one because the pictures were professionally taken. I told her I took them and she gave me a look so finally I was like "I take pictures professionally and happen to have a backdrop at home!" So, they let me buy them but I had to sign a release. And I didn't get enough so I have to go back today!!!! grrr.

Craft time at the portugal house!

We decided to be crafty today and make something to hold our Christmas cards and it was so fun! I cut out felt mittens and ornaments and the boys decorated them. Esteban and I each did 2 also. It turned out so cute!!! I also had each boy paint a canvas for our bedroom....that's why they can only use red. haha Nathaniel already painded one canvas for our downstairs bathroom and I love it so I decided the bedroom needed one too!

Who knew we were in a bad area?

So last night there were cops and helicopters and sirend everywhere on our street and we couldn't figure out why. Finally the news showed up and we figured it out.

Watch the video. The guy they interviewed sold us our car. He said it's normal here and some kid got his head blown off awhile back!! I didn't even know it was a bad area!! I guess I should pay more attention!

Shopping at midnight

So my mom, sister and I decided to go shopping after Thanksgiving. The mall opened at midnight and we thought it would be fun. It was so crowded, we barely moved....literally squished against people. Then the security wouldn't let us by because of fights breaking out. Every highschooler in the area was hanging out there! So we went home, slept for 2 hours, and went back out to shop until about 3. It was so fun! I'm almost done shopping now!

Sophie is 2 months old now! I'm going to go post her photos in a few minutes on the website. She's almost completely in size 0-3 month now! She's getting so big! Almost 10 pounds now!

Today we told Nathaniel that Santa lived at Target and he said "No he doesn't. We live at Target" haha Smart kid. Sammy has started talking finally! He consistently says mama dada bye bye no ow uh oh meow please thank you ok hi and signs more thank you and please. He loves Sophie so much as does Nathaniel! They are always kissing her and singing to her. Nathaniel is still doing gymnastics and has gotten to be in the big kid class a couple of times.

Chef Nathaniel

Nathaniel loves ratatouilli. It's in his top 5 movies. He decided he wanted a rat costume but I convinced him to get a chef costume instead. He agreed but insisted on having a rat to sit on his head too. If you haven't seen the movie you probably think this sounds odd but trust me it makes sense. We surprised him the other day with a new chef jacket and Remy in a jar...who he calls rata. He was sooo excited and even "helped" me make dinner!

I got this one of Sophie this morning. She was so happy and wouldn't stop smiling!

Sophies 1 month appointment

Sophie is now 8 pounds 10 ounces...almost a pound up from birth! She is 20 inches....up 2 inches! She's getting so big! She graduated to size 1 diapers and almost doesn't fit into her preemie and up to 7 pound outfits....which makes no sense since she is almost 9 pounds but whatever. She got her second hep b shot and did great! Only screamed for a second. The dr said she looks very healthy so we're good until her 2 month check.

The boys are doing well. Nathaniel is still loving gymnastics and is still obsessed with transformers....even more now that we have the movie! He also is in love with the movie Meet the Robinsons and gets upset everyday because he really wants to build a time machine. Sammy has been sick for a few days. Yesterday he threw up corn dogs and curdled milk. Imagine that for a second. It was awesome. Luckily Esteban was here because I don't do that. That's a mom gene that I just didn't get.:)

I got a new chair and I love it! It's a brown upholstered rocker....so pretty! Of course the boys love it too so we have to fight over it. I got a loaf of cinnamon chip bread from Great Harvest yesterday for the boys. I ate half the loaf myself. It's just so good! Don't worry....it's totally healthy. They put the cinnamon chips in the wheat bread. It's like putting whip cream on your non fat mocha (as my mom does.:) ) It makes no sense but it makes me feel better. For the record, I do not use nonfat milk in my mocha. I really want a mocha right now. I wish starbucks delivered.

Esteban as usual has been working non stop, sometimes until 3 in the morning. He's crazy but I guess it's good that he likes his job!

I just added over 200 photos to the October 2007 folder on the site. Now I'm going to go work on November.

Crazy busy week!

Estebans family came out for the week so we did the tourist thing all week! We went up in the Space Needle, visited Bruce and Brandon Lees grave (let me tell you how excited I was. I hate cemeterys!) went to EMP, walked Pike Place Market and bought salmon, went to the aquarium, and went to the island. On halloween we went trick or treating at Mill Creek town center. It was great! On Sunday we went to the boo at the zoo so the boys got to wear their costumes twice. Nathaniel has worn his almost everyday. He loves it!

Oh the joy of fall........

Today was so nice out!!! It was like summer.....but not warm. We took the kids to a pumpkin patch and took a hayride and everyone picked out their own pumpkin to carve. They loved it!! Nathaniel had no idea that we got him a Buzz lightyear costume so tonight we finally showed him. He was so excited!! Of course he had to try it on and Sammy tried on his Woody costume. They were so cute!! Here are a few photos and tons more will be added as soon as I make an October folder. I'm a little behind.....

I think everyones colds are finally gone. Sophie is still stuffy but everyone seems better! We went to the aquarium on Saturday and the boys loved it! I'll have to post pictures.......it turned out to be a nice day! Anyways, heres the Sophie photos! I'm still amazed by how much she looks like Nathaniel!

Sophie updates....

I'm slacking on this blog thing again I know. Sophie was down to 7 pounds 4 ounces at her 4 dat dr appointment and at her 10 day back up to 7 pounds 11 ounces. Not quite birth weight but we're getting there! So far she is the easiest baby ever! She rarely cries, sleeps all day, and really spit up for the first time today! All 3 kids have a cold as do I so it's been fun! Poor Sophie hates having her nose sucked out! Hopefully it will pass soon!

Nathaniel started gymnastics 2 weeks ago and so far he loves it!! There is only one other kid in the class.

hmmmm I guess that's all.

Baby Sophie is here!

After the first real contraction came at about 9am this morning, we decided to head right in. Esteban is slow so "right in" meant we got here around 10:15. I was dialated to 6cm and decided to go for no epidural again. She was born 40 minutes later at 10:54am weighing 7 pounds 14 ounces and 18.5 inches long! By far the biggest baby! She has big chubby cheeks, about an inch of think dark hair, a hairy back and hairy ears! haha She's our monkey. She looks exactly like her daddy and is already eating like a champ! We'll be here at the hospital until tomorrow and then we'll get more photos up but here are a few to start!
